Buyer’s guide

Shipping a motorcycle you bought online or at auction

Quick answer

To ship a motorcycle you bought online or at auction, pay for it in full, confirm the seller or auction has released it, collect the title or paperwork, then give us the seller’s contact details and pickup address. We schedule pickup directly with the seller and deliver the bike to your door.

Before you book shipping

  1. 1Pay in full and get a receipt or bill of sale.
  2. 2Confirm the bike is released to you, with a release number or lot number for auctions.
  3. 3Agree with the seller on how the title or paperwork will reach you.
  4. 4Ask the seller about the bike’s condition: does it run, roll, and steer?
  5. 5Get the seller’s name, phone number, pickup address, and available hours.

Watch for auction deadlines

Many auctions charge storage fees if a bike is not collected by a set date. Book shipping as soon as you win and tell us the pickup deadline.

Protect yourself from scams

Be cautious if a seller insists on using a shipping company they choose, asks you to pay the shipper through them, or pressures you to pay by wire or gift card. You can always arrange shipping yourself with a company you contact directly.

FAQ

Buying a bike online or at auction: common questions

Can you pick up a motorcycle from a private seller in another state?

Yes. Give us the seller’s contact details and we arrange a pickup time with them directly. Someone must be there with the key.

What if the seller says the bike runs but it does not?

The driver will tell you at pickup. A non-running bike may need different loading, so ask the seller honest questions before booking.

Can you pick up from Copart, IAA, or other auctions?

We pick up from auctions when the bike is paid for and released. Give us the auction, lot number, release details, and pickup deadline.

Should the title travel with the motorcycle?

No. Arrange with the seller to send the title to you directly, by tracked mail, rather than leaving it on the bike.
